Join us in welcoming Ned Lamont to Hartford Seminary for a special lecture. Ned is Founder and Chairman of Lamont Digital Systems, a privately held company which provide telecommunications services to over one million college students on 250 college campuses.  He is also a Distinguished Professor of Philosophy and Political Science at Central Connecticut State University in New Britain, CT, a significant promotion having previously taught at Yale School of Management, Harvard Institute of Politics, and Harding High in Bridgeport, CT.

Poverty, Peace, Planet Earth and the Prophetic Voice

Wednesday, June 6th 6:30 pm
Three separate panel discussions presented by Hartford Seminary, the Hartford Public Library, Charter Oak Cultural Center and the Conference of Churches. The series will examine the community’s responsibility toward poverty, peace, and planet Earth from an interfaith and public policy perspective. The discussions will touch on the religions’ place in American society and how they should use that place to reflect the prophetic, theological voice on these three issues with additional comment from community leaders. Poverty: Tuesday, March 20,  5:30 at the Library; Peace: Tuesday, April 24, 5:30 at Hartford Public Library; Planet Earth: Wednesday, June 6, 6:30 at Charter Oak.  You can register for the entire series or individual discussions.

Basics of Christian Education

This special workshop will provide students with a broad spectrum of the basic knowledge and skills needed to begin an effective ministry of Christian Education in the local church. This year, we are offering a new one-day option for those who have had prior theological education. Clergy and others trained theologically may attend only the final-day session, which covers the practical skills needed for effective Christian education.
